The Chinese character 心 means both mind and heart. Through three 心 characters, the artist imagines a being with three hearts whose separate minds may also become one.

This idea leads to the octopus—a creature with three hearts that has long fascinated the artist. She views the ink released by an octopus as an ever-changing world of written forms. After drawing the three characters without a predetermined composition, she followed their shapes with spontaneous gestures, allowing a human face to emerge.
