Dew Kim's site-specific installation, The Stage - After God, unfolds across the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art and the Former Busan Nam High School, connecting the two sites into a single pilgrimage. The work explores how marginalised bodies bear the costs of blind faith and dogmatic idolatry, asking what remains when objects of worship have vanished. Rather than proposing direct answers, Kim guides the audience through that process of absence physically, passing from the sacrifice of an offering, through an empty center, to the formation of a new order.

The journey begins with Act 1: The Stage of Blood at the Busan MoCA. An altar-like stage carries a cross-shaped microphone stand, surrounded by latex bas-reliefs holding the marginalised bodies of queer and shamanic figures. As a pipe organ exhales sound, the latex surface gets compressed, exposing these fossil-like silhouettes. The vertical structure and sound of the pipe organ contrast with the compressed bodies, visually emphasizing the concept of the scapegoat. Surrounding this spectacle, a quiet and suspended stillness suggests how such sacrificial violence—embedded in the everyday gestures of a society that relies on the kneeling of some to confirm the power of others—continues to reverberate.
