Born in Busan and based in Seoul, Sojung Jun works across video, installation, sound, and text to explore nonlinear structures of time through which history and the present are sensed. Her artistic practice listens closely to voices and presences pushed outside systems of visibility and representation as she follows traces left behind amid the ruins and fissures of modernity. Weaving together memory and experience, scattered narratives, and speculative imagination into complex sensory forms, Jun summons times and beings that have disappeared—or have been left unspoken—within the velocity of the present. In doing so, she proposes the possibility of writing history without erasing difference, multiplicity, or discontinuity.
