Fatima Kaleem Khan is a visual artist whose practice traces the image of discipline as it weaves through the home, the school, and the soap opera. Examining domestic and national narratives through drawing, synthetic hair, and embellishments, she restages found media to dissect the circulation of ideology. Drawing on the visual language of Pakistani military-funded, state-produced soap operas and everyday material culture, Kaleem creates tableaux and moving-image works that trace how state ideology slips into personal spaces.
