Yazan Khalili
Yazan Khalili is a visual artist, architect, and cultural activist. Using photography and text, Khalili unpacks historically constructed landscapes. Borrowing from cinematic language, his images become frames where the spectator embodies the progression of time and narratives. He weaves together parallel stories over the years, generating questions and paradoxes concerning scenery and the act of gazing, refracted through intimate politics and alienating poetics. Khalili’s practice particularly focuses on how geographical distance shapes perceptions of territory and intensifies or suspends political and sentimental attachments.
