Abu Qadim Haqq is a Detroit-based visual artist, illustrator, and Afrofuturist world-builder whose work has shaped the visual mythology of Detroit techno since 1989. Founder of The Drexciyan Empire, LLC, he creates paintings, album artwork, comics, and publications that connect Black speculative history, electronic music, oceanic myth, and future technology. His long visual relationship with Drexciya, an electronic music duo from Detroit, including imagery connected to Neptune's Lair and the expanded Drexciyan graphic novel universe, has helped define a sacred cartography of underwater civilization, sonic memory, and diasporic imagination.
